Global losses of foodstuffs due to mycotoxins run into millions of tons annually. Dr. Jia-Sheng Wang took center stage for the 2018 Translational Impact Award Lecture to deliver a talk aptly titled "Modulation of Toxic Effects and Human Disease Risks: From Synthetic Drugs to Natural Products."
Jia-Sheng is the recipient of the SOT 2018 Translational Impact Award. He is regarded by many as a foremost expert in the world on the measurement of human exposure to mycotoxin, the public health impact from this exposure, and the translation of field-practical technologies.
Joshua P. Gray has been named the recipient of the 2018 Society of Toxicology (SOT) Undergraduate Educator Award. Dr. Gray received his PhD in pathobiology from Pennsylvania State University in 2003.
Maureen R. Gwinn, PhD, DABT, ATS, is the recipient of the Society of Toxicology 2018 Public Communications Award. Dr. Gwinn serves as a senior science advisor in the US EPA Office of Research and Development.
