The 2017 graduate student and postdoctoral scholar award recipients have been named by the SOT Awards Committee, including the Colgate-Palmolive and Syngenta awardees.
Karen E. Stine, PhD, is the recipient of the 2017 Society of Toxicology (SOT) Undergraduate Educator Award. During her distinguished career, Dr. Stine has taught hundreds of students in a variety of toxicology courses, many of which she developed.
Dr. Laura James is a force to be reckoned with in the field of toxicology. Her research has taken her from exploring the basics mechanisms of acetaminophen-induced liver injury and subsequent regeneration to the development of a new medical device for diagnosis of acetaminophen overdose in patients.
Laura P. James, MD is the recipient of the 2017 SOT Translational Impact Award. She is a widely regarded clinical researcher who completed both a pediatric residency and fellowships in clinical pharmacology and toxicology and pediatric emergency medicine with a focus on adverse drug events.
Jayanta K. Das, PhD is the recipient of the 2017 SOT Translational/Bridging Travel Award. With a strong cancer research background, his research includes molecular signaling pathways of cancer stems cells, anti-cancerous drug development and free radical research.
