The application of emerging technologies to improving drug safety science is the theme of the Gordon Research Conference (GRC) on Drug Safety, June 10–15, 2018, at Stonehill College, Easton, MA, and the Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) on Drug Safety, June 9–10, at the same venue.

The series of SOT FDA Food Safety Colloquia continues with the March 27 session “Can Alternatives Inform Risk Assessments of Mixtures in Food?” Chaired by A. Wallace Hayes and co-chaired by Suzanne Fitzpatrick.
On March 8, I spent the day visiting the Connecticut congressional and senatorial offices as part of the FASEB Capitol Hill Day. More than 60 representatives from 27 FASEB member societies and 32 states met with lawmakers to discuss increasing funding for research.
I attended the debate between SOT and EUROTOX during the SOT 2018 Annual Meeting and ToxExpo, where the debaters addressed the proposition “Adverse Outcome Pathways (AOPs) Are the Future for Regulatory Toxicology.” I found it particularly interesting because my current/ongoing dissertation research.
