SOT is once again offering a variety of exciting research and training opportunities through its Supported Awards program. With up to $112,750 in funding available, these awards are designed to foster innovation and advance the field of toxicology.

Most of the SOT Supported Awards require several application materials, including letters of support/recommendation, budget outlines, and more. It is recommended to begin applications for these awards long before their October 9 deadline. Please direct any questions regarding these awards to SOT Headquarters.

Bristol Myers Squibb Graduate Student Research Training Award to Promote Diversity in Toxicology

The purpose of the Bristol Myers Squibb Award for Graduate Student Research in Toxicology is to enhance the resources available to academic laboratories hosting and supporting Black/African American, Latinx/Hispanic American, or Indigenous American graduate students by supplementing resources in academic laboratories. The award is dedicated to increasing the diversity of scientists in toxicology to better serve the needs of patients and communities. Graduate students in their final two years of a PhD program can receive up to $10,000 for research costs, travel, and training expenses.

Colgate-Palmolive Award for Student Research Training in Alternative Methods

The Colgate-Palmolive Award for Student Research Training in Alternative Methods presents a valuable opportunity for those dedicated to replacing animal testing with innovative alternatives. By focusing on advancing graduate student research through in vitro methods and nonanimal techniques, this award can significantly influence the future of toxicological research. With up to $3,750 in funding, the selected training may include in vitro approaches and computer modeling, enabling recipients to drive innovation in the field.

Colgate-Palmolive Grant for Alternative Research

The Colgate-Palmolive Grant for Alternative Research promotes the advancement, refinement, or validation of animal alternative methods, prioritizing projects that utilize in vitro or nonanimal models in areas such as reproductive and developmental toxicology, neurotoxicology, systemic toxicology, sensitization, or acute toxicity. This grant offers up to $40,000 and is open to scientists at any career stage. Recipients will receive a plaque along with the cash award.

Colgate-Palmolive Postdoctoral Fellowship Award in In Vitro Toxicology

The Colgate-Palmolive Postdoctoral Fellowship Award in In Vitro Toxicology serves as a great opportunity for early career researchers by promoting the advancement of alternatives to animal testing. The award provides up to $44,000 for stipends and research-related costs over one year. Eligible applicants include postdoctoral trainees at academic institutions, federal/national laboratories, or research institutes. Recipients will be recognized with a plaque and fellowship funds.

Syngenta Fellowship Award in Human Health Applications of New Technologies

The Syngenta Fellowship Award supports graduate students and postdoctoral trainees engaged in mode-of-action research that elucidates dose-dependent effects of xenobiotics on mammalian systems. This award provides $15,000 in fellowship funds, along with travel support to attend the SOT Annual Meeting and Annual Meeting and the opportunity to present your findings at a Syngenta facility. Recipients will receive a plaque and fellowship funds as part of the award.
