The SOT Awards program recognizes the accomplishments of outstanding toxicologists whose influence in the field is manifested through breakthrough research, excellence in mentoring, and more. SOT award recipients represent leaders in toxicology and related sciences, from promising undergraduates and innovative postdoctoral scholars to preeminent senior scientists.
The deadline to nominate a deserving colleague or to apply for many of these prestigious honors is October 9. National SOT Awards are presented during the Awards Ceremony during the Annual Meeting and ToxExpo, and nominating or applying for an SOT award is a fantastic way to be recognized for notable achievements.
You are encouraged to explore the award opportunities the Society offers by visiting the Awards & Funding section of the SOT website. Here, you can search for an award by name, audience, or category to find awards applicable to you. Awards are available for researchers; postdoctoral scholars; graduate students; members of Regional Chapters, Special Interest Groups, and Specialty Sections; and more. Because of Council’s decision to host the 2021 Annual Meeting and ToxExpo in a virtual format in lieu of holding an in-person meeting, many Component Group awards are being re-envisioned and redefined. As the leadership of each Component Group makes decisions regarding their awards, the SOT Awards System will be accordingly updated. Please pay close attention to these details as you explore award opportunities.
Nominators and applicants should carefully review the award description and requirements before submitting the requisite materials. Please note that many SOT Awards require nomination letters from two Full members of the Society for consideration.
Recognizing outstanding colleagues for their contributions to toxicology is an important function of the Society—you are encouraged to participate by nominating or applying for an SOT Award by October 9!
