In response to a membership-expressed desire to include more timely research in the SOT Annual Meeting and ToxExpo, SOT is seeking and welcoming proposals for a Hot Topic Session for the 2023 meeting.

Hot Topic Sessions can be 90 or 165 minutes and should focus on toxicology-related issues that have either arisen since the deadline for regular session proposals (May 2022) or have peaked in interest to the scientific community and/or public.

Hot Topic Session proposals are due by Friday, February 3. There will be only one Hot Topic Session programmed for the 2023 Annual Meeting, and it will take place on Thursday, March 23.

As with Symposium and Workshop Session proposals, Hot Topic Session proposals should include:

1. The names and affiliations, including city, state, and country, of the Session Chairs.
2. The preferred duration of the session (90 or 165 minutes).
3. For 90-minute proposals, no more than three presenters; for 165-minute proposals, no more than five presenters.
4. The affiliations, including city, state, country, and email address of all presenters.
5. An overview abstract describing the session, as well as sufficiently detailed abstracts for each presentation topic.

The Chair of a Hot Topic Session must be an SOT member. Nonmember speakers are welcome in the proposal, but SOT will only offer complimentary registration (not full travel funding) for nonmember speakers.

Endorsement by an SOT Component Group (i.e., Regional Chapter, Special Interest Group, or Specialty Section) is not required.

Proposals should be submitted as an MS Word document directly emailed to SOT. An example of a proposal is available on the SOT website. All proposals will be evaluated by the SOT Scientific Program Committee in mid-February.

The Hot Topic Session offers an opportunity to present and discuss the timeliest toxicology-related science during the SOT Annual Meeting, and we look forward to your proposals.
