The goal of the Global Senior Scholar Exchange Program (GSSEP) is to increase toxicology capacity in global economy support countries by providing professional opportunities for scientists through relationships supported by SOT.

GSSEP Hosts are individual(s) interested in hosting a Global Senior Scholar who shares mutual research and teaching interests and in developing cooperative projects to build the toxicology program and expertise at the Scholar’s institution and in the region. SOT members from established toxicology programs (including academic, government, and industry organizations) worldwide are eligible to apply as Hosts. The exchange experiences are intended to be mutually beneficial for building the careers of both the Scholars and Hosts. Mid-career faculty who are looking to build international recognition for professional advancement are strongly encouraged to apply.

Host applications are due July 1, 2022.

Following the Host selection this summer, Scholars will have the opportunity to submit their applications for the Host Institution they believe will be the most impactful to their training and research objectives. Scholars will receive SOT support to attend the Annual Meeting and to spend about four weeks with a Host. After the Scholar is in residence with the Host, SOT will provide up to $5,000 travel support for the Host to visit the Scholar’s institution, other faculty, and students.
