The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Research Education Program (R25) supports research education activities in the mission areas of the NIH. The over-arching goal of this National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) R25 program is to support educational activities that enhance the diversity of the biomedical, behavioral, and clinical research workforce by providing research experiences and related opportunities that can enrich the pool of individuals from diverse backgrounds, including nationally underrepresented groups, who will be available to compete for research opportunities in the mission areas of importance to NHLBI.

To accomplish the stated over-arching goal, this funding opportunity announcement (FOA) will support creative educational activities with a primary focus on research experiences.
