New Deadline for SOT Funding for Trainee Career-Building Activities: Apply by September 23

Students and postdocs can apply for up to $1,000 in SOT funding to help them gain skills and breadth to succeed in their planned toxicology careers. Each of the following awards supports a plan and budget devised by the applicant to gain specific expertise for their professional path. There are two deadlines a year for these programs, with the upcoming deadlines of September 23 and April 15. All these awards require a statement of support from the applicant’s mentor.

 

Diversity Initiatives Career Development Award

Eligibility:

  • Undergraduate and graduate students, as well as postbaccs in their first year of a formal postbaccalaureate research position
  • SOT Undergraduate Student Affiliate or Student member
  • From an underrepresented population in the United States

Supplemental Training for Education Program (STEP) Award

Eligibility:

  • Enrolled in a PhD program and have completed at least four semesters or six quarters
  • Passed comprehensive exam or equivalent
  • SOT Student member

Eligibility:

  • Trainee in a formal, mentored postdoctoral position
  • SOT Postdoc member
