2019 SOT Annual Meeting and ToxExpo.

Increasing undergraduate participation in toxicology is an important priority for SOT. The SOT Undergraduate Research Award is the way that SOT recognizes outstanding undergraduates who submit abstracts for the Virtual 2021 SOT Annual Meeting. Although abstracts are not due until December 1, the deadline for applications for this award is October 26 so that the Faculty United for Toxicology Undergraduate Recruitment and Education (FUTURE) Committee can conduct the first round of review in a timely manner. Acceptance of the abstract is a condition of the award.

The recipients of this award will participate in special virtual undergraduate events before and during the meeting and will be connected to a mentor.

We encourage all SOT members who assist with undergraduate research to discuss submission of an abstract with their students and to make sure the students know about this and other SOT award opportunities, including the Undergraduate Diversity Program Student Award and awards presented by SOT Component Groups.

Undergraduate students receive complimentary registration for the meeting, and there will be multiple meeting events tuned to the undergraduate attendee. The best way for students to be informed of SOT programs, internships, and other news of interest is to become an SOT Undergraduate Student Affiliate.
