The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Center for Scientific Review (CSR) offers an opportunity for early career scientists to serve as a reviewer “to help early career scientists become more competitive as grant applicants through first-hand experience with peer review and to enrich and diversify CSR’s pool of trained reviewers” through the Early Career Reviewer (ECR) Program.
Those interested in applying should have “at least 2 years of experience as a fulltime faculty member or researcher in a similar role” and should “show evidence of an active, independent research program,” according to the ECR Program web page. Applicants also cannot have “served on an NIH study section in any capacity aside from as a mail reviewer” and “must have submitted a grant proposal, in the PI/PD role, to the NIH and received the associated summary statement.” For the full list of requirements, please visit the ECR Program web page.
