Graduate Training Resources Survey—Responses Requested

Aaron Bowman, Chair, Graduate Education Subcommittee

The Graduate Subcommittee of the SOT Education Committee, as part of its charge to identify gaps in graduate student preparation, is exploring the need for a collection of training resources for faculty to use at the graduate level. This is an opportunity to learn what types of materials might be valuable and what resources exist that might be shared.

Drs. Pamela Lein (Co-Chair) and Jared Brown are spearheading a survey to seek input from all SOT members who are involved in graduate training. The survey will be open until September 14.  We appreciate your timely response.

Currently, the Undergraduate Subcommittee curates a resource collection for undergraduate instruction and these materials will become part of the larger Life Sciences Teaching Resource Collection. This collection is supported by a partnership of life science societies, including SOT.  Graduate teaching resources could be submitted there as well.

We look forward to your input to assist in our planning.
