More than eighty young and mid-level toxicologists attended the Strategies for Submitting Successful Grants: Brown Bag Lunch where presenters talked about the ins and outs of what makes a successful grant submission. SOT Research Funding Committee Chair Nancy Kerkvliet opened the panel discussion. Annette Kirshner, Program Administrator Cells and Organ Systems Pathology Branch, Division of Extramural Research and Training, National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences talked about the process for submitting applications and Heather Patisaul, Assistance Professor, North Carolina State University, talked her own experiences apply for a grant. She provided numerous tips and the audience and panelists exchanged in a lively question and answer session about the process.
