Are you an SOT member? Have you ever considered visiting a developing country for the purpose of spreading joy and enthusiasm regarding toxicology? If you answered yes to those questions, then the SOT International ToxScholar Outreach Grant is the travel award for you!

Jimenez-Velez ToxScholar.pngUp to $1,250 in funding is available for each award, used to support visits by SOT members to developing nations to raise awareness of toxicology and toxicology careers by interacting with undergraduate and graduate students. Applicants are encouraged to seek matching funds from partners, whether an SOT Special Interest Group, employer, or host institution. A letter from the contact at the institution to be visited is required, and letters from sponsoring partner(s) would be included as part of the application. The deadline to apply is October 9.

For further information, please visit the “ToxScholar Outreach Grants” web page and/or contact me via email. You also can learn more about the program through examples of previously funded trips provided in the International ToxScholar blog posts. This program is guided by the Faculty United for Toxicology Undergraduate Recruitment and Education (FUTURE) Committee.
