Join us on Wednesday, September 23, 2015,  at 2:00 pm (ET) during National Postdoc Appreciation Week for the Postdoctoral Assembly (PDA) Fall Webinar “Your Pathway to an Independent Academic Career: Tips and Good Practices for K99/R00s.” The goal of this PDA webinar is to shed some light on grantsmanship issues for those junior investigators/postdoctoral scholars who are planning to write Pathway to Independence (PI) Award (K99/R00) applications.

Many postdocs have their eyes set on academic careers.  An early challenge they will face is applying for and receiving their first funded grant. Crafting a fundable research proposal is no small task for anyone and requires the use of clear, concise language that will guide the reviewer through the proposal and to an enthusiastic, positive outcome. Important tips will be discussed on how to write a successful, competitive grant, as well as a few common missteps that should be avoided.

Hosted by PDA Secretary Tongde Wu and Councilor Karilyn Sant, the webinar speaker will give guidance on how to apply for the PI Award. The speaker will share his insight into the application process and offer advice for making a competitive application.

Speaker: Michael C. Humble, PhD, Program Administrator, Genes, Environment and Health Branch Division of Extramural Research and Training,  National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences

Register for the PDA webinar today! Q & A session will follow the speaker presentation. Questions? Contact Rachel Woodson, PDA Staff Liaison.
