As part of its Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) membership, SOT has been made aware of an opportunity for individuals interested in supporting legislation to broaden participation by underrepresented minorities, women, and veterans in STEM.
The American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB), a fellow FASEB member, is conducting a campaign to urge elected officials to co-sponsor three STEM-related bills: H.R. 2528: STEM Opportunities Act, S. 153: Supporting Veterans in STEM Careers Act, and H.R. 627: STEM Research and Education Effectiveness and Transparency Act. ASBMB has developed sample letters and other resources for individuals interested in supporting this effort. For more information, read the announcement on the ASBMB Policy Blotter blog.
