SOT presents many awards during the Annual Meeting and ToxExpo to recognize outstanding member and nonmember toxicologists for their contributions to the field in a variety of areas. Awards are presented during the Awards Ceremony at the meeting, and nominating or applying for an SOT award is a fantastic way to be recognized for notable achievements. The deadline to submit a nomination or application for most SOT awards is October 9, 2019.

The Awards & Funding section of the SOT website provides information, criteria, and nomination/application details for each award, facilitating the process. The SOT Awards System also allows users to narrow their search by filtering awards by name, category, or audience. Awards are available for researchers; postdoctoral scholars; graduate students; members of Regional Chapters, Special Interest Groups, and Specialty Sections; and more.

Nominators and applicants should review the award description and requirements before submitting the requisite materials. Please note that many SOT awards require nomination letters from exactly two Full members of the Society for consideration.

Most awards for undergraduates, including Graduate Student Travel Support, require that the applicant have an abstract accepted for the Annual Meeting. The deadline to submit an abstract for the 2020 SOT Annual Meeting is October 18, 2019, but the deadline to apply for a Graduate Student Travel Support is October 9, 2019, so please be sure to submit your abstract early if applying for this award.

As the awards deadline approaches, please consider honoring your colleagues who are deserving of recognition by the toxicology community, and nominate or apply by October 9!
