Introducing the New SOT Website Look

This week, the SOT website unveiled a new look designed to make it easier for our members and visitors to find information, resources, and SOT programs. All the same SOT content is available as before, but it is presented with new fonts and colors and a new new-sot-website.jpglayout.

We also have incorporated some enhancements to improve your website experience. A new search functionality has been integrated on the website. The new search allows you to see a preview of search result options while typing your query and sort your results by category, such as pages, documents, and blogs. In addition, the search now returns results from ToXchange, as well as videos of recorded presentations and lectures. We hope this more robust search will allow you to find content more readily on the SOT website.

Another enhancement is the site navigation. SOT web pages are still grouped under eight main categories—About SOT, Members & Groups, Meetings & Events, Publications & News, Awards & Funding, Careers, Education, and Endowment Fund—but now, when you hover over one of these categories from a desktop/laptop or tap on them from a mobile device, the featured pages within that category will appear in the dropdown menus. This new “mega nav” functionality allows you to visit almost any page on the SOT website directly from the navigation bar.

Faster access to key areas for SOT members also is incorporated into the website. Under Members & Groups, there is a column of links for Current Members, which provides you quick access to items such as your profile, the member directory, and the dues renewal link. Upon login, you also can access your member profile by using the dropdown option next to your name.

This work was completed as part of the Strategic Plan objective to “increase engagement using audience-specific communication.” Some additional work under this objective is underway and will be unveiled in the coming months. We hope you find these updates beneficial.
