In addition to numerous endowed funds administered by various component groups of the Society, there are three SOT Mission Funds that are administered by SOT Council that support activities and awards consonant with the Society’s strategic plan.
The Translational Impact Award is presented to a number or nonmember scientist whose outstanding clinical, environmental health, or translational research, in the last ten years, has improved human and/or public health in an area of toxicological concern.
The Translational/Bridging Travel Award is given to assist up to two individuals to travel to the SOT Annual Meeting. The SOT Awards Committee provides this award to a mid- or senior-level scientist/clinician with at least ten years of experience (postdoctoral research/clinical practice).
This summer, thanks to the generous SOT Diversity Initiatives Endowment Career Development Award, I attended the American Chemical Society 256th National Meeting and Exposition in Boston, MA. The theme of this year’s conference was “Nanoscience, Nanotechnology, and Beyond.”
