The Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts held its third Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) career expo “Changing the World through STEM” in Framingham, Massachusetts, in March 2015.
The South Central Chapter held its “K-12 Toxicologist Luncheon” at The 2014 Annual Fall Meeting on October 23-24, 2014, at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi.
As a way to help build for the future of toxicology, I have been fortunate to have opportunities to invest some of my time supporting strong STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education for young students.
Since 2007, the Girl Scouts Council Nation’s Capital Chapter has organized a Girl Scout Science Day to give local Girl Scouts an opportunity to learn more about science in a fun and friendly environment.
Teaching kids new concepts through the use of board games is hardly a new idea.Throw in a tropical island theme complete with tiki torches, grass skirts and a crusty pirate and the learning becomes absolutely enjoyable! This was the idea of MASOT Education and Outreach Committee.
