In addition to SOT awards, fellowships, and supported awards with an October 9 application/nomination deadline, the Regional Chapters, Special Interest Groups, and Specialty Sections of SOT confer many awards throughout the year to recognize the achievements of toxicologists.
The Undergraduate Education Subcommittee is pleased to announce a new grant to increase undergraduate participation in Regional Chapter meetings. Exposure to toxicology during an undergraduate career contributes to the success of recruiting these students into professional or graduate programs.
The SOT National Capital Area Regional Chapter will be recruiting young scientists to toxicology careers at the USA Science & Engineering Festival www.usasciencefestival.org , April 26-27 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC.
The 2013 Annual Meeting of The South Central Chapter of the Society of Toxicology “Toxicological Research—Inspiring the Next Generation of Toxicologists” was held On October 10-11, 2013 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Last year the Education and Outreach Committee of the Mid-Atlantic Society of Toxicology (MASOT) launched an innovative educational
program called Escape from Toxic Island. The program utilized informational posters followed by a board game that quizzed summer campers.
