FASEB Provides Free Resource for Developing Op-Eds and Letters to the Editor

By Suzanne Fitzpatrick posted 10-08-2020 16:27

The Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) has developed resources and guidance to help scientists, lab personnel, trainees, and students prepare and submit op-ed articles and letters to the editor to local and regional newspapers. These resources are meant to help address the politicization of science and misrepresentation of scientific issues.

FASEB staff are available to assist anyone who wants to write an op-ed or letter to the editor and can provide editorial review or discuss strategy for placement. Letters to the editor also can be repurposed for distribution to elected officials.

Through the Society’s membership with FASEB, SOT members can avail themselves of this opinion piece writing resource and other FASEB tools and materials at any time.

This blog is authored as part of the roles and responsibilities assigned to the SOT Secretary.
