The Society of Toxicology (SOT) Component Groups (Regional Chapters, Special Interest Groups, and Specialty Sections) host many webinars throughout the year. Webinars are an effective distance-learning method intended to impart scientific knowledge to members of their group as well as the SOT membership at large. These webinars are just one of the many benefits of SOT membership.

Topic: Communicating the Science of Toxicology

Communicating science in an easy-to-understand way is one of our most important responsibilities—though not always an easy one. The ability to communicate science in an approachable and compelling manner is crucial to creating a healthier, safer world and advancing the science of Toxicology. The speakers for this webinar will be B. Paige Lawrence, PhD, Professor, Environmental Medicine, Director Toxicology Program, University of Rochester, Rochester, New York, and Jay Ansell, PhD, DABT, Vice President, Cosmetic Programs, Personal Care Products Council, Washington, DC. Both speakers have substantial experience in communicating toxicology to regulators, stakeholders, grant reviewers, and the general public. This webinar will be a great opportunity for toxicologists at all career levels to brush up on and diversify their communication skills.

This event is co-chaired by Lauren Walker, Doctoral Candidate, University of California, Riverside, and Betina Lew, PhD, DABT, ERT, Shiseido Americas Corporation, East Windsor, New Jersey.
