September is eventful for SOT partner activities, as three annual and triannual events are being held this month:

FASEB Science Research Conferences

Only a few FASEB Science Research Conferences remain in 2022, and three of them are in September:

 

NIEHS Clustering and Classification Workshop

On October 3 and October 4, NIEHS is hosting a workshop titled “Clustering and Classification: Applications to Investigate Adverse Effects of Chemicals on Human Health and Environment.” This two-day virtual workshop will include presentations by invited speakers as well as roundtable discussions that encourage attendee participation.

NIEHS National Advisory Environmental Health Sciences Council Meeting

The next meeting of the National Advisory Environmental Health Sciences Council will be held and streamed live on September 13–14. The council Chairman, Rick Woychik, PhD, is an SOT member, while fellow SOT members Lynn R. Goldman, MD; Andrij Holian, PhD; Terrance J. Kavanagh, PhD, DABT, FSfRBM; Gary W. Miller, PhD; and Trevor M. Penning, PhD, serve as council members.

NIH Scientific Advisory Committee on Alternative Toxicological Methods Meeting

The NIH Scientific Advisory Committee on Alternative Toxicological Methods Meeting is holding a livestreamed virtual meeting September 21–22. SOT member K. Nadira De Abrew, PhD, chairs the committee, and serving on the committee are SOT Councilor Antonio Baines, PhD, and members Szczepan W. Baran, VMD; Amy Clippinger, PhD; Sean C. The Society of Toxicology of Canada (STC) 54th Annual Symposium

The theme of the 2022 Symposium, taking place November 30–December 2, is “Environmental and Lifestyle Exposure to Endocrine-Disrupting Chemicals: From Cells to Society.” SOT is a sponsor of this event, which is being held in-person and virtually.

Toxicology Excellence for Risk Assessment (TERA) Dose-Response Risk Assessment Boot Camp

SOT has endorsed this five-day course scheduled for October 31–November 4. Taking place at the Cincinnatian Hotel in Cincinnati, Ohio, this boot camp is applicable for beginners to experienced risk assessors who seek hands-on training in hazard characterization and dose-response assessment for human health risk assessments.

WHO Interactive Civil Society Dialogue on “Climate Change and Health”

On behalf of IUTOX, SOT is pleased to share an invitation to attend this 90-minute virtual discussion with WHO Director General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on September 5, 8:00 am–9:30 am (US EDT, UTC -4).
