Each month, SOT provides an update on activities and events of importance to the toxicology community through the release of the “Around the World of Toxicology” blog. Please note that only activities by societies and professional associations (i.e., nonprofits) will be considered. Reminders of Upcoming, Previously Featured Deadlines and Activities
- The abstract submission deadline for the EUROTOX 58th Annual Congress has been extended to April 8, 2024.
- The American College of Toxicology (ACT) Education Course “Toxicology for Pharmaceutical and Regulatory Scientists” is April 8–12, 2024.
- The 2024 American College of Medical Toxicology (ACMT) Annual Scientific Meeting is April 12–14, 2024.
- The deadline to submit a session or continuing education course proposal for the 17th International Congress of Toxicology in Beijing, China, has been extended to April 15, 2024.
- The 12th Congress of Toxicology in Developing Countries is April 15–18, 2024.
- The 2024 British Toxicology Society (BTS) Annual Congress is April 15–17, 2024.
- On April 16, 2024, the National Association for Biomedical Research (NABR) is hosting a webinar titled “One Health and Animal Research: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly,” highlighting current approaches to One Health that provide challenges to laboratory animal research.

The AAAS Charles Valentine Riley Memorial Lecture is an opportunity to explore the environmental and societal challenges facing the planet through the lens of agricultural innovation and its applications in a global context. You can nominate a speaker by April 22.

US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA)
The US FDA is holding a public, two-day workshop titled “Development of Drugs for the Treatment of Congenital Cytomegalovirus (CMV) Infection and Neonatal Enterovirus Infection.” The workshop will discuss clinical trial design considerations, including endpoints, study population, and comparators, related to the development of drugs for the treatment of congenital CMV infection and neonatal enteroviral sepsis.
