SOT Looking for Tiny Tox Suggestions for Salt Lake City!

By Laurie Haws posted 08-10-2023 12:02 PM

After another successful series of Tiny Tox Talks in Nashville, the SOT Scientific Program Committee (SPC) is excited to continue the Tiny Tox Talk program at the 2024 SOT Annual Meeting and ToxExpo.

Tiny Tox Talks are short presentations–no longer than 20 minutes, including Q&A–by SOT members in the semi-enclosed Tiny Tox Theater located in the ToxExpo Exhibit Hall. The theater seats approximately 40 people, and the presentations can be informal and interactive, if desired. The theater is equipped with a large monitor, laptop, microphone, and flip chart. Presenters only need to bring themselves; presentations are optional. Any presentation should be brought to the theater on a flash drive.

Several Tiny Tox Talk topic suggestions were gathered from the 2023 Tiny Tox Talks presenter survey including:

  • Grant applications
  • Contemporary toxicological issues (for example, the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio)
  • Continuing dialogue about supporting and enhancing diversity in STEM
  • Maneuvering through difficult conversations

Please consider proposing a topic and speaker for the 2024 Tiny Tox program. Complete the 2024 Tiny Tox Talk Proposals Form by Tuesday, September 12, to be considered by the SPC. Notifications of acceptances for 2024 Tiny Tox Talks will be made by October 2.

The SPC looks forward to your contributions to this dynamic Annual Meeting experience!
