Are you a graduate student with a passion for toxicology, eager to showcase your research on a prestigious platform? The SOT Graduate Student Travel Support award program is designed to assist graduate students pursuing a PhD in toxicology by providing financial support to attend the annual SOT Annual Meeting and ToxExpo. The SOT meeting is a hub for innovation, knowledge exchange, and networking, making it an invaluable experience for toxicologists at any level.
To qualify for this support, you must be a PhD candidate in toxicology with a graduation date after the 2024 SOT Annual Meeting and ToxExpo (March 10–14, 2024), hold a current SOT Student memberships or have a pending membership application submitted by September 30, and have an abstract accepted for presentation during the SOT Annual Meeting. The abstract must be submitted at the same time as your award application by the early deadline of October 9, 2023—note that this a month earlier than the standard abstract submission deadline. Recipients are selected by the SOT Awards Committee, with preference for students with longer graduate school tenures. Please note that this support is a one-time award for each recipient.
What Do You Need for Your Application?
To complete your application for Graduate Student Travel Support, complete these steps:
- Electronically submit your abstract via the Abstract Submission Site for the upcoming SOT Annual Meeting. Remember, this must be done by the October 9 deadline.
- Your abstract submission generates a Control ID number. Make sure to include this number in your application for Graduate Student Travel Support.
- Inform your research advisor that you will need a letter of recommendation associated with the abstract you’ve submitted. The award application system will ask for your advisor’s contact information and will send them a notification to upload a letter of recommendation.
- Fill out the online application form for Graduate Student Travel Support.
