Please join the Committee on Diversity Initiatives (CDI) as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Undergraduate Diversity Program and the people who make it successful. The CDI Reunion will take place during the SOT 58th Annual Meeting and ToxExpo on Saturday, March 9, 2019, from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm in the Hyatt Regency Baltimore Constellation A. We anticipate a special evening with guests from throughout the history of the program and the opportunity to network with old friends and new, as well as program alumni, this year’s students, and those who have provided leadership for this influential SOT program.
Dr. Sharon Milgram, director of the Office of Intramural Training and Education at the National Institutes of Health, will present her thoughts on “Writing Our Six-Word Memoir.” Jessica Jiménez of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, who did her research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was selected for the program in 2016, will receive the Perry J. Gehring Diversity Student Travel Award. This award is presented to a student who participated in the Undergraduate Diversity Program in the last four years and is presenting a poster during the meeting. Her poster is entitled “Environmental Impact on Health through the Lens of Brain Microglia.”
Come enjoy dessert, coffee, and tea and the company of the terrific volunteers who have worked for many years to expand opportunities for undergraduates in toxicology. Please RSVP online. Please contact Zainab Mohsini if you have any questions.
We look forward to seeing you there!
