Upcoming Regional Chapter Events: April and May Edition

The Society of Toxicology Regional Chapters hold Annual Meetings and webinars to provide a scientific forum for their members and the greater scientific community in their locale. Below are a number of upcoming Regional Chapter events that may be of interest to you. Midwest: The Midwest Regional Chapter (MRCSOT) meeting will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016, at the DoubleTree Hilton in Mundelein, Illinois. The topic of the meeting will be E-cigarettes and medical marijuana and the Keynote Speaker is Dr. A. Wallace Hayes. The meeting  also will include an awards presentation. National Capital Area: The National Capital Area Regional Chapter (NCAC-SOT) will be holding their Spring Symposium on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at the Georgetown University Conference Center in Washington, DC. The subject of the symposium is Medical Cannabis and the Endocannabinoid System: A Review of the Evidence and the Barriers. Online registration is now open.

Northern California: The Northern California Regional Chapter (NorCal) meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at SRI International in Menlo Park, California. The topic of the meeting is ADC’s and Immunotoxicity. The meeting will include Lunch with an Expert and a poster session. Online registration is now open.

North Carolina: The North Carolina Regional Chapter (NCSOT) will host a webinar on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, from 2:00 pm–3:00 pm EDT. The webinar features Dr. Norbert Kaminski who will present “The Role of Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor Polymorphisms on TCDD-mediated Suppression of Human B cell Function.” Online registration is required. Mid-Atlantic: The Mid-Atlantic Regional Chapter (MASOT) will host a webinar on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, from 12:30 pm–2:30 pm EDT. The title of the webinar is Current Progress in Immunotoxicology from Medical Devices through Biologics and will explore three therapeutic modalities (small molecule, large molecule, and medical devices) and will emphasize the diversity of immuno-toxicological challenges and approaches for these areas. Allegheny-Erie: The Allegheny-Erie Regional Chapter (AE-SOT) will host their 30th Annual Meeting on May 18-19, 2016, at the Erikson Alumni Center on the West Virginia University Campus in Morgantown, West Virginia. The title of the meeting is “Understanding Environmental Toxicities in Relation to Human Health.” More information can be found on the Allegheny-Erie website.
