Like SOT, other toxicology groups and organizations have made the decision to postpone or cancel their in-person meetings owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Originally scheduled to take place September 6–9, 2020, EUROTOX 2020 has been postponed. The Congress has been rescheduled for September 26–29, 2021, and will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark, as was planned for this year’s congress. According to the EUROTOX website, this postponement may result in some alterations to the Congress program, but upon much discussion about alternatives, the EUROTOX leadership made “a decision in the best interests of all.” Refer to the Congress website for updates and further details.
Additionally, the Japanese Society of Toxicology (JSOT) has shifted its in-person 47th Annual Meeting to an online-only format, which will take place from June 29, 2020, to July 1, 2020. As noted on the meeting website, the meeting content will be distributed via livestream and prerecorded sessions, and research will be shared through ePosters. For the most up-to-date information on this virtual event, consult the meeting website.
The Society for Birth Defects Research and Prevention (BDRP; formerly the Teratology Society) also has announced that the BDRP 60th Annual Meeting will be held virtually instead of in person. This event will take place in June, and more information on the sessions and courses offered is available on the virtual meeting website.
Finally, the 39th Annual Symposium of the Society of Toxicologic Pathology (STP), originally set to take place in June in Summerlin, Nevada, has been canceled. Those interested in keeping abreast of updates regarding STP-sponsored events should consult the STP website for the most current information.
