Scientists will gather for a workshop to explore the association of arsenic in drinking water with a variety of noncancer effects including skin lesions, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, liver damage, and kidney disease. The session will be held at 9:00 am in Room 217 in the Convention Center. Presenters will talk about recent epidemiologic studies of arsenic and how they apply to the health evaluation of arsenic in food, the current state of knowledge regarding the occurrence of various forms of arsenic found in foods, as well as their potential exposures, and the current state of understanding of arsenic-induced cardiovascular disease risk and potential modes of action.
