The December 2016, Vol. 154, Issue 2 of Toxicological Sciences (ToxSci) now is available online. As you Look Inside ToxSci, take note of the Editorial by ToxSci Editor-in-Chief Gary W. Miller and Associate Editor Michael Aschner on Celebrating 50 Years of NIEHS as well as Dr. Miller’s remarks on building for the future of toxicology.
“In this issue’s editorial, Dr. Michael Aschner and I pay homage to the National Institute of Environmental Health Science (NIEHS) as they celebrate their 50th anniversary. NIEHS has had a tremendous impact on the field of toxicology serving as a major supporter of research and training for decades. Speaking of training, this issue features two first-author papers from one ambitious graduate student (now postdoc), Rance Nault from Michigan State University. As a society journal, it is an honor and privilege to shepherd the outstanding work of the next generation of toxicologists. As we wrap up another year, we need to resolve to strengthen the field of toxicology by supporting the success of our trainees. Take time to listen, advise, mentor, and motivate the budding toxicologists—and of course, encourage them to look inside ToxSci for the best original research in the field of toxicology.”
Also in Look Inside ToxSci, you will find four Editor's Highlights prepared by ToxSci Associate Editors Kristine L. Willett on Flame Retardant Toxicity in Caenorhabditis elegans, Dana C. Dolinoy on Use of RNA-Seq in Archival Tissue, Nathan J. Cherrington on Metformin and Acetaminophen Toxicity, and Hartmut Jaeschke on 3D Printed Human Liver Tissue for Toxicology.
The mission of ToxSci, the official journal of the Society of Toxicology, is to publish the most influential research in the field of toxicology.
