The Scientific Program Committee (SPC) will hold its annual webinar designed to illuminate the process by which proposals for scientific sessions are reviewed and the criteria for evaluation. The SPC values the input we receive from the membership, in particular the Specialty Sections, Special Interest Groups, SOT Committees, and Task Forces, with respect to the Annual Meeting Program. Therefore, please mark your calendar for Tuesday, February 23, 2016, to participate in “Empowering the Endorsers: Developing Competitive Scientific Session Proposals” webinar from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm ET.
In this webinar, we will provide an overview of the submission, review, and decision process, and answer some of the frequently asked questions related to proposal submission. Our goal is to provide participants with insight from the perspective of the SPC that will aid them in preparing top-quality, competitive proposals. We are aware of the exciting opportunities as well as challenges for the proposal developers and would like to discuss how we can continue to improve this process and make our SOT activities even stronger. We hope that you’ll set aside some time to participate in this interactive session.
In addition to this webinar on February 23, the SPC is hosting an Informational Session at the 55th SOT Annual Meeting, “Why Did the Scientific Program Committee Reject My Proposal? Developing a Good Idea into an Accepted SOT Session,” on Wednesday, March 16, from 12:30 pm to 1:50 pm. If you are planning to submit a scientific session or Continuing Education course proposal for 2017, you are highly encouraged to attend both the webinar on February 23 and the Informational Session in New Orleans.
