Panelists for the informational session, “Global Health and Environmental Impacts of E-Waste Recycling” talked at length about the problem of e-waste and e-waste recycling in developing countries. Aimin Chen provided the audience with the latest health data on research he is conducting in a small village in China. Other panelists talked about the scope of the problem in terms of international regulation and the Basel Treaty and Myrto Petras, of the California Department of Toxic Substances Control briefed attendees on the regulated and unregulated contaminants in California waste.
