What does it take to submit a grant that be will evaluated successfully by federal program officers? Annette Kirshner of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences will be hand to talk about the process and answer your questions. Dr. Kirshner is a Program Administrator in the Cellular Organs and Systems Pathbiology Branch in the Division of Extramual Research and Training. She is the lead representative for neurodevelopmental toxicology other than autism, neurodegeneration including Amyotropic Lateral Sclerosis and Alzheimer's Diease and was responsible for the development of the Parkinson's program which culiminated in the establishment of specialized centers in PD. David Dorman, a professor of toxicology at the College of Veterinary Medicine and Chair of the Research Funding Committee will also provide his expertise on the grant process and provide such adivce about how to submit a potentially successful grant. Finally, Dr. Jared Brown, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology of East Carolina University School of Medicine will talk about his successes and offer some advice to attendees. The luncheon will be held in Room 212 of the Convention Center starting at 12 Noon. Lunch will be served.
