The National Institutes of Health (NIH) are launching several initiatives that are designed to boost biomedical research and sustain the global competitiveness of US research. The Institutes charged the Advisory Committee to the Director to develop recommendations, which were presented to NIH this past summer. The recommendations relate to Diversity in the Biomedical Research Workforce, the Future Biomedical Research Workforce, and Data and Informatics.
