Invitation to Submit a SOT 2017 Annual Meeting Proposal

By Patricia Ganey posted 03-29-2016 12:48 PM

As you made your way home from the SOT Annual Meeting in New Orleans, planning for the 2017 Annual Meeting, which will take place March 12–16, 2017, in Baltimore, Maryland, was underway. SOT has received session proposals for the 2017 Annual Meeting, and we are hoping to receive more. We invite you to visit the full session proposal site for complete information on preparing your proposal, including links to recordings of two recent Scientific Program Committee (SPC)-hosted events: the Informational Session held in New Orleans on Wednesday, March 16, on session proposal preparation, and the webinar held on February 23, “Empowering the Endorsers.”  Click here to visit the full session proposal site that includes these links as well as a link to the abstract submission site.

Please keep in mind that the SPC and the Continuing Education Committee place great value on the comments by the endorsing groups—the Specialty Sections (SSs) and Special Interest Groups (SIGs) or other committees or task forces that will endorse and rank session proposals. For this reason, it is good to provide your draft proposals directly to the endorsing groups well in advance of the submission deadline to leave time for their review and feedback and any recommended revision prior to formal submission to SOT (deadline for this is April 30). A list of endorsing groups can be found here. Check with your SSs/SIGs directly for their early review deadline (usually several weeks before April 30), as these vary by endorsing group. Click here for information on SOT SSs. Information on SIGs and Regional Chapters may be found in the “Members & Groups” option on the SOT website home page

We are looking forward to developing an exciting program from the proposals submitted for consideration for the 2017 Annual Meeting.
