Submit your Host application via the SOT website.
Host applications will be accepted until September 9, 2016.

Dr. Olufunke Eunice Ola-Davies is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Veterinary Physiology, Biochemistry and Pharmacology, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. She will pursue further investigations of the genotoxicity inhibitory activity of Spondias mombin. It may be that components of the plant may provide drugs for either prophylactic or chemotherapeutic use. Arsenic is a metal increasingly present in the environment in Nigeria due to industrialization and cancer also is on the rise. Developing a healthy research collaboration will increase quality research output, manuscript publishing, and improved visibility for her department and institution. In addition, Dr. Ola-Davies plans to further develop skills for mentoring trainers amongst the faculty members and postgraduate students as well as increase student awareness about toxicology at her institution and also at other schools in the region. SOT members can find additional information in her application.

Dr. Ansam F. Sawalha is Professor of Toxicology in the Physiology, Pharmacology, and Toxicology Department, An-Najah National University, Nablus, Palestine. The first toxicologist in the country, she is the founding director of the only poison control center in Palestine. Her research is related to analysis of cases of poisoning reported to the center, including exposure to toxic materials in the environment, incidence of poisoning, blood lead levels in children, and risk assessment after exposure to aflatoxin. She has introduced a poison prevention course as an elective for all university students. Although there is high need, there is no toxicology graduate program in the country and a goal of the exchange is to develop plans to establish such a program. SOT members can find additional information in her application.
The Education Committee looks forward to receiving excellent Host applications for exchanges that will continue the successes of this program. Previous recipients can be found in the Historical Archive of SOT Awardees.
