JRC's EURL ECVAM Survey on 3Rs Education and Training Courses and Resources: Participate by June 30

By Laurie Haws posted 06-14-2018 03:44 PM

The Joint Research Centre of the European Commission (JRC) has launched a study to review available education and training resources that support the 3Rs approach: Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement of animal procedures used for scientific purposes.

This ambitious global study is being undertaken by the JRC's EU Reference Laboratory for  Alternatives to Animal Testing (EURL ECVAM). The study aims to provide an overview of education and training opportunities offered at the high school, university, and professional levels, including courses, modules, teaching materials, guidance, and other resources. The result will represent a snapshot of how, where, and to whom the principles of the 3Rs and alternative-to-animal approaches are currently being taught, keeping in mind that many such initiatives might not be labeled as such.

The study is expected to be completed during 2019 and the information gathered will be made publicly available. If interested, you can access and complete this survey using this hotlink. The survey will remain open until the end of June 2018. Please feel free to forward this information to others who can contribute to this initiative.
