Sustainable Chemicals Roundtable

When:  May 5, 2026 from 03:00 PM to 04:30 PM (ET)
Hosted by the SOT Sustainable Chemicals through Contemporary Toxicology Specialty Section, Occupational and Public Health Specialty Section, and Women in Toxicology Special Interest Group
SOT’s Sustainable Chemicals through Contemporary Toxicology (SCCT) Specialty Section was founded recently, in 2020, with the purpose of broadening the impact of toxicological research to inform decisions that advance safer chemistry throughout product lifecycle. There are other professional groups with goals comparable to SCCT’s, who are also working at the nexus of toxicology and toxics reduction, green chemistry, safer alternatives, and sustainability.
This webinar will bring together an expert panel, each representing a different professional organization focused on sustainable chemicals.
The panel will feature:
Colleen McLoughlin, PhD, DABT, ERT, representing the Advancement and Application of Alternatives Assessment Interest Group (A4-IG) of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC)
Chris Helt, PhD, representing BizNGO
Adelina Voutchkova, PhD, representing the American Chemical Society’s Green Chemistry Institute (ACS GCI)
Jen Tanir, PhD, representing SCCT
o
Each panel member will present an overview of the organizations they represent, including their group’s history and goals, and current activities. Presentations will be followed by a moderated panel discussion with live audience Q&A. This session aims to engage toxicologists, safer alternatives assessors, green chemists, and others interested in the field of sustainable chemicals.
