Each year, the SOT Inhalation and Respiratory Specialty Section (IRSS) gives out the Mary Amdur Student Award to those students whose abstract best addresses the environmental health issues that were the focus of Dr. Mary Amdur’s career. Dr. Amdur was a pioneer in air pollution toxicology, who overcame gender, political, and scientific barriers to proclaim the potential for interactions between specific air pollutants. The IRSS was pleased to give out 5 awards this past year! Participants will hear from each award winner about their scientific work in a rapid-fire format. Each student will give a brief presentation with a Q&A session held at the end of all 5 presentations.
