Hosted by the SOT Regulatory and Safety Evaluation Specialty Section
Regulatory toxicology requires knowledge of aspects related to a number of disciplines of natural and social sciences, including chemistry, biology, bioinformatics, toxicology, epidemiology, exposure assessment and nutrition, as well as sociology, psychology and communication, to name a few. It builds a bridge between science and decision-making.
The lecture will provide a summary of where Regulatory Toxicology knowledge is needed and pathological conditions linked to chemical exposure.
Moreover, the activity is designed to provide an understanding of weight of evidence, read across, statistical methods, clinical study design, meta-analysis techniques, and epidemiological principles, all of which are pivotal in advancing evidence based practices and policies.
