This one-hour webinar will showcase all of our first-place award winners for the 2025 MSBSS undergraduate (Cayen Rong, University of Washington), graduate (Gillian Williams, University of Pittsburgh), and postdoctoral (Siddhi Jain, University of Pittsburgh) awards. The webinar will begin with a short 5-minute introduction from the MSBSS President (Jessica Hartman, Medical University of South Carolina), followed by 12-minute talks from each presenter with time for questions at the end of each presentation. Our first presentation will be from undergraduate awardee Cayen Rong with her talk titled "Gut Microbiome Mechanistically Contributes to Early Life BDE-99 Exposure-Mediated Disruption of the Large Intestinal Immune Surveillance." Next, our graduate student awardee Gillian Williams will present her talk titled "Exploring Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor as a Potential Target for Treating Acetaminophen Hepatotoxicity". Finally, our postdoctoral awardee Siddhi Jain will present "Hepatocyte-Specific MET Ablation Exacerbates Liver Injury and Impedes Regeneration in Acetaminophen-Induced Hepatotoxicity Model." The session will be moderated by MSBSS Postdoctoral Representative Michelle Kossack and Graduate Representative Syed Ferdous. Please join us in hearing from these trainees on their exciting research projects.
