Katelyn Dunigan Russell, Post-Doctoral Scholar, Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine

 

Dr. Dunigan Russell is a Post-Doctoral Scholar at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, in Dr. Kymberly Gowdy’s laboratory. Her postdoctoral research focuses on the relationship between ozone-induced inflammation and alterations in macrophage antioxidant responses. She received her BS from University of Central Florida (2015) and her PhD in Cellular & Molecular Biology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (2020), where she sought to understand the role of antioxidant species in the neonatal lung. In the past, she has served on several committees, including Society for Free Radical Biology & Medicine Trainee Council (Council/Vice Chair) and UAB Graduate Student Government (Travel Grant and Emergency Loan Officer). She recently joined SOT in spring 2020, however she has been an active member in her regional (Ohio Valley) SOT chapter, and is excited to be active member in the national SOT. Dr. Dunigan Russell is interested in grantsmanship and scientific administration as her final career goal. She has a passion for supporting scientist.
