Do you know undergraduate students who are curious about toxicology and looking to explore opportunities in the field? The SOT Initiatives for Development and Engagement Committee (IDEC) is now accepting applications for awards designed specifically for undergraduates and the faculty who support them.

We invite students to apply—and we encourage faculty to share these opportunities widely with anyone who may be interested. Applications are due by October 15, 2025.

Undergraduate Development Program Student and Advisor Travel Awards

These awards provide travel and lodging support to attend the Undergraduate Development Program, a three-day experience taking place March 2123, 2026, during the SOT Annual Meeting and ToxExpo in San Diego, California.

What’s the Undergraduate Development Program all about?

It’s an engaging, in-person program where a select group of undergraduate students:

  • Explore the field of toxicology by learning more about core concepts and current research topics

  • Network with SOT members from different career sectors

  • Get tips on applying to graduate school

  • Discover career paths in the biomedical and toxicological sciences

  • Attend the Opening Plenary Session, Poster Sessions, and other exciting SOT Annual Meeting events

This program is ideal for students who may not yet be ready to submit an abstract but are interested in learning more about toxicology and future opportunities in graduate school and research careers.

👉 For full details and eligibility, visit the SOT Apply page.

Faculty Advisors: If you're not currently an SOT member but you advise eligible students, you can also apply! A limited number of faculty are selected each year to receive travel support to participate alongside the students. For more information, visit SOT Apply.

Additional Awards for Undergraduate Students
