Program-Spotlight-Transpernt.pngThe “SOT Program Spotlight” series is aimed at increasing awareness of how SOT programs and activities are focused on addressing and/or supporting the Society’s guiding principles of (1) serving the needs of the scientific discipline and our members to enhance human, animal, and environmental health; (2) life-long learning and intellectual scientific stimulation; (3) diversity of representation in all activities of the Society; and (4) integrity.

Central to the SOT guiding principle of life-long learning and intellectual scientific stimulation, the SOT Continuing Education (CE) Program offers on-demand and in-person educational offerings for scientists across career levels and expertise.

The in-person CE Program takes place on the Sunday of the SOT Annual Meeting and ToxExpo and typically features more than a dozen diverse course offerings. Courses cover both established knowledge in toxicology and new developments in toxicology and related disciplines. General courses are intended to provide a broad overview of an area or to assist individuals in learning new techniques or approaches, while courses based on more specialized topics are intended to be of interest to individuals with previous knowledge of the subject who are already working in the field. SOT CE courses can be applied toward numerous certifying and licensing board requirements in the United States and around the world.

For those interested in continuing their education outside the SOT Annual Meeting, the Society also offers an online CE program, CEd-Tox: SOT Continuing Education Courses Online. Eighty courses recorded during the Annual Meeting currently compose the CEd-Tox library, with additional courses added each April. Those who registered for in-person courses during the Annual Meeting have online access to the specific course(s) course in which they registered. For others, there are options available for individual course registration or an annual subscription. SOT offers free access to the CEd-Tox catalog for Postdoc and Student members, as well as members from developing countries.

If you have any questions about the SOT CE Program, please contact SOT Headquarters.
