Tox ShowDown, the best (only?!?) team-based toxicology trivia game, is back for 2025, and we are looking for contestants. Come and nerd out with your fellow toxicologists! 

Don’t miss this opportunity to volunteer to be a contestant in the Tox ShowDown, which will take place the evening of Tuesday, March 18, 2025, in Orlando, Florida, as part of the SOT Annual Meeting and ToxExpo! During the Tox ShowDown, three teams of three players each—the Endocrine Disruptors, the Free Radicals, and the Toxic Metabolites—race against the clock to answer questions entirely, partly, or remotely related to toxicology. Topics cover a wide range of subjects, including the often-surprising roles of toxicology in history, current events, arts, culture, society, and even occasionally science. Don’t worry, we will have a skilled judge on hand to settle any intellectual disputes.

You may be asking yourself, “What will I be getting myself into if I volunteer?” The answer: A whole bushel of toxicology fun! There is nothing like team trivia to build lasting bonds with your fellow toxicologists. Added bonus: If your team doesn’t win, feel free to blame your new friends!

We are an equal opportunity game, and everyone is welcome to volunteer, although we lean toward the uninitiated (contestants who haven’t yet experienced the unadulterated joy of participating in a Tox ShowDown). Shockingly, there is no application process involved. We’re looking for nine trivia-loving contestants, as well as a few alternates, and some helpers who are planning to be in Orlando on Tuesday, March 18.
