SOT has learned that Emeritus member Alan M. Goldberg, PhD, passed away on June 9, 2026. Dr. Goldberg founded the Johns Hopkins Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing (CAAT) and was recently inducted into the CAAT 3Rs Hall of Honors. Dr. Goldberg also was the recipient of the SOT Enhancement of Animal Welfare Award in 2001. For additional information, please see the CAAT tribute to Dr. Goldberg.
