For more than half a century, the SOT Awards Program has recognized outstanding scientists across career stages and disciplines for their contributions to the field, as well as funding critical toxicological research. I am pleased to announce that the 2022 SOT Awards Season officially opens today, July 1. You are encouraged to submit applications and nominations for SOT Awards through the October 9 deadline.
The Society confers hundreds of awards throughout the year to support and honor distinguished toxicologists. As we plan for the SOT Annual Meeting in San Diego in March, we are especially looking forward to bestowing many of these honors in person during the 2022 Awards Ceremony.
To find awards that are relevant to you or to colleagues you would like to nominate, begin your search on the Awards & Funding section of the SOT website, where you can search for awards by audience and/or by category. The Society’s Committees confer dozens of awards to recognize achievement and support training in toxicology, in addition to many honors supported by the Endowment Fund and supporting companies—including a new award supported by Bristol Myers Squibb. Don’t forget that SOT Component Groups (Special Interest Groups, Specialty Sections, and Regional Chapters) also offer awards with deadlines throughout the year.
Each award has its own description that will indicate the individual eligibility criteria, application requirements, and deadline; these items vary by award, so be sure to assess them carefully for each award in which you’re interested. In addition, many awards require the applicant to submit an abstract for the Annual Meeting. The abstract deadline for the 2022 SOT Annual Meeting and ToxExpo is October 15, 2021, so please plan accordingly as you prepare your award materials.
We look forward to your applications and nominations! If you have any questions regarding SOT Awards, please contact SOT Headquarters.#SOTAwards#Communique:AnnualMeeting
