Please note that only activities by societies and professional associations (i.e., nonprofits) will be considered. American College of Medical Toxicology (ACMT)
On December 14 and 15, ACMT and the Center for Forensic Science Research and Education are hosting a virtual Seminar in Forensic Toxicology. “Cannabis and the Expanding World of Cannabinoids” is the focus on December 14, while “Living in a Poly Drug World—Lab and Medical Complexities” will be explored on December 15. Continuing Education Medical credits are available for live attendance.

European Societies of Toxicology (EUROTOX)
The EUROTOX Faculty Webinar Series returns on October 11, with a presentation by Anna Steneholm, Toxicology Knowledge Team, titled “Applied Industrial Toxicology.” Another webinar will be held on November 28 with Shirley Price, Surrey University, answering the question “Why Is Developmental and Reproductive Toxicity Testing Important in Risk Assessment?” Registration links for these events are not yet available.

International Union of Toxicology (IUTOX)
Once again, IUTOX, the SOT Endowment Fund, and SOT are sponsoring travel awards for junior or senior scientists from a country where toxicology is underrepresented to attend the SOT Annual Meeting and ToxExpo, March 10–14, 2024. The application deadline is October 9.

National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS)
The NIEHS National Advisory Environmental Health Sciences Council is meeting September 12–13, 2023. The agenda for the meeting, which will be webcast, has not been released.

The NIEHS National Toxicology Program (NTP) Scientific Advisory Committee on Alternative Toxicological Methods is meeting virtually and in-person September 21–22, 2023. On the agenda for day one is discussion of the acute toxicology six-pack and the evolution of validation as the committee evaluates the progress made in the Interagency Coordinating Committee on the Validation of Alternative Methods (ICCVAM) Strategic Plan. Day two will focus on the role of new approach methodologies in environmental health protection.

Leading up to a two-day workshop October 11–12, 2023, the NTP is hosting a three-webinar series titled “Trust Your Gut: Establishing Confidence in Gastrointestinal Models.” The first webinar is taking place September 18 and will focus on absorption and pharmacokinetics. Microbiome effects on toxicity will be the topic for the second webinar on September 20, while the last webinar will cover the evaluation of potential allergenicity on October 6.

US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA)
“Optimizing the Use of Postapproval Pregnancy Safety Studies” is the focus of a virtual and in-person workshop being held September 18–19 by the US FDA and Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy. Individuals can submit comments on this workshop through November 30. Registration for the event is open.
